Pittsburgh, PA
This was my first time in Pittsburgh and my first stop in this adventure. I’m not sure it could have gone any better than it did. Maybe if Jose Altuve had come over to shake my hand and tell me I’m the greatest singer he’s ever heard. But other than that, damn near perfect!
Pittsburgh is fascinating. It is the most intimate city I have ever visited. It feels hidden away from the world, in it’s own special place and time. The color green inhabits everything surrounding the city. The people are kind and unpretentious. An island metropolis.
PNC Park encapsulates this energy perfectly. It feels smaller than the average MLB stadium but it is something that feels shared by the community, not just a place to watch a game.
I was excited by the folks at Emsworth Inn. People playing the music simply because they love it. This was exactly the root of what I am seeking out here. It helps that the beers were cheap!
What a unique and exciting place. History and modernity meeting in seclusion. Thanks for a great time, Pittsburgh.
